About the role#
As a summer 2027 engineering intern with our Water Resources team, you will contribute to real-world projects that involve planning, design, and permitting. You will work alongside engineers on tasks related to stormwater and flood control, floodplain management, and erosion control. This internship provides hands-on experience to help you bridge the gap between your coursework and your future career.
What you'll do#
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control projects.
- Create project designs using AutoCAD and GIS/ArcMap.
- Assist with technical analysis and the preparation of construction documents.
- Conduct research and write technical reports.
- Participate in field observation at job sites as project needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in engineering, with a preference for civil or environmental engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
