About the role#
The Special Events Intern will work with the Hospitality team to assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of festivals, private events, group tours, and off-site experiences. This role provides hands-on experience in event management and hospitality. The internship runs from February 8, 2027, through May 16, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the initial point of contact for special event inquiries and respond to communications.
- Assist with the setup and execution of day group tours and private evening events.
- Support the promotion and execution of festivals and off-site events, including traveling to event locations.
- Manage administrative tasks such as updating company and musician calendars and maintaining the marketing database with customer information.
- Greet customers, operate registers, and pour wine tastings during onsite events.
- Conduct follow-up communications with customers after events, including thank you and evaluation emails.
- Assist with research projects aimed at improving event success and profitability.
- Attend staff meetings and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Event, Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Previous experience related to events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in public speaking and customer service.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Location: Bloomington, Indiana.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with a stipend of $3,500 for the 14-week term.
