Special Events Intern-Spring 2027

About the role#

Oliver Winery is seeking a Special Events Intern to join the Hospitality team for the Spring 2027 term, running from February 8, 2027, through May 16, 2027. This full-time, on-site role provides hands-on experience in the planning, promotion, and execution of festivals, private events, group tours, and off-site experiences. Interns will work closely with the Hospitality and Events team to support guest experiences and develop professional skills in event management.

What you'll do#

• Serve as the initial point of contact for special event inquiries, responding to phone calls and emails.
• Assist with the setup and execution of day group tours, private evening events, and festivals.
• Travel to off-site events throughout the state to assist with event execution.
• Greet customers, operate registers, and pour wine tastings during on-site events.
• Maintain the marketing and musician databases with current information.
• Update the company calendar and communicate upcoming events to staff.
• Prepare supplies for off-site events and conduct research projects to improve event success.
• Follow up with customers post-event by sending thank you and evaluation communications.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Event, Hospitality, and Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Previous experience related to events.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in public speaking and customer service.
• Must be over 21 years of age.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a professional demeanor.

• Location: Bloomington, Indiana.
• Term: Spring 2027 (February 8 – May 16, 2027).
• Schedule: Full-time (approximately 40 hours per week), including evenings and weekends based on event needs.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
