    About the role#

    This paid internship takes place at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio. The position runs from October 12, 2026, through December 21, 2026. You will report to the Interpretive Supervisor and work between 8 and 24 hours per week during weekday business hours.

    What you'll do#

    • Digitize lesson plans and activities using materials from the museum archives and collections.
    • Organize and catalogue the existing set of traveling exhibits.
    • Conduct research to verify information for upcoming projects and exhibits.
    • Travel to the Wilberforce University archives for in-person research.
    • Present your work at the semester internship summit.
    • Attend requested meetings and professional development sessions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in or recent graduation (within one year) from an academic program at a Historically Black College located in Wilberforce.
    • A major in History or Education.
    • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and scanners or printers.
    • Familiarity with website building is helpful.
    • Ability to work independently and support colleagues.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Punctuality and promptness.
    • Ability to complete a background check and onboarding paperwork.

    This role is located on-site in Wilberforce, Ohio. It is a part-time, paid position.
