About the role#
Cheekwood is offering a part-time internship within the Museum of Art for the Winter 2027 term. This position provides hands-on experience with museum collections, exhibition planning, and collections care. You will work directly with the curatorial team to support ongoing projects and daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Research objects within the collection and prepare for upcoming exhibitions.
- Organize historical research materials.
- Develop interpretive materials for museum visitors.
- Track and record the movement and location of art objects.
- Use the EmbARK collections database to manage records, images, and files.
- Help the team during the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
- Complete other tasks as needed to support the department.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior undergraduate standing or a recent graduate from an accredited college or university.
- Current pursuit or completion of a degree in Art History, American Studies, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Arts Administration, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in working within a museum setting.

- Term: January 25, 2027, through April 30, 2027.
- Schedule: 15 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
