About the role#
The Public Programs internship is for undergraduate students who want to gain experience developing and overseeing educational events at a museum and botanical garden. You will work with the education and public programs staff to implement workshops, performances, and festivals for a variety of audiences.
What you'll do#
- Conduct a semester-long project that balances your personal learning goals with departmental needs.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of Cheekwood in Bloom.
- Help prepare and run public programs, including Holi and the Great Spring Art Hop.
- Attend departmental planning meetings as your schedule allows.
- Interact with staff from various departments, including Marketing, Visitor Services, Curatorial, and Development.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a Junior or Senior undergraduate student.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in at least one of the following: event planning and production, visitor experience, art education, event promotion and marketing, music business, non-profit management, museum studies, or education.
- Majors in Communications, Marketing, or other relevant fields.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Nashville, Tennessee.
- The internship runs from January 25, 2027, to April 30, 2027.
- This position is part-time, requiring 15 hours per week for 12 weeks.
- This is a paid position at $17.00 per hour.
