About the role#
Oak Hammock at the University of Florida is hiring a part-time IT Intern to support our residents. This role offers practical experience in end-user support within a community setting. You will work 15-20 hours per week in a role focused on maintaining technology for our senior population.
What you'll do#
- Maintain the functionality and efficiency of technology used by residents.
- Diagnose issues with mobile and desktop equipment.
- Provide daily technology assistance to residents.
- Train users on software and guide them through problem resolution.
- Update user information in our database system.
- Report escalated technical issues to the IT team.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment at an accredited university or community college.
- A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Preference for students with Junior or Senior standing.
- Strong communication skills and an empathetic approach to working with seniors.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background checks.
