About the role#
This 12-week paid internship provides hands-on experience in the homebuilding industry. You will work across various segments of the business to build a foundation for a career in construction management. The program is full-time and based on-site in Roanoke, Virginia.
What you'll do#
You will shadow an experienced Project Manager in the field to learn the vocational aspects of homebuilding. Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project management tasks.
- Working directly with on-site subcontractors.
- Interacting with customers throughout their homebuilding journey.
- Learning the new home sales life cycle by working with the sales team.
- Studying how to forecast and prepare for future homebuilding activity.
- Touring production plants and architectural design offices.
- Gaining exposure to the mortgage banking and home loan financing process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program, preferably with a major in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Real Estate, or Operations Management.
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers and partners.
- A drive for results and demonstrated leadership skills.
- A current driver's license.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
