About the role#
nVent is seeking engineering students for a co-op position starting in the Winter 2027 term. You will work on designing, manufacturing, and optimizing high-amperage power distribution systems used in industrial facilities and power plants. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Richland, Mississippi. You will receive mentorship from managers and senior leaders while participating in professional development and networking events.
What you'll do#
- Generate product designs using 3-D modeling and CAD software.
- Conduct heat transfer studies using FEA analysis software.
- Participate in the design and manufacture of electrical panels and equipment.
- Perform research and development activities.
- Conduct product performance testing and resolve technical issues.
- Participate in process improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or industrial technology.
- Sophomore standing or later, with an expected graduation date by summer 2029.
- A GPA of at least 2.75.
- A desire to work at least 2 or 3 semesters.
- Experience using Inventor or SolidWorks 3D modeling software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to collaborate across functional areas.
