About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op position offers hands-on experience in an electrical and electronics manufacturing environment. You will work directly with production teams to improve processes, manage projects, and support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles. This is a full-time, paid role based on-site in Anoka, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project management activities and equipment moves within production areas.
- Analyze data to make informed decisions regarding project implementation.
- Resolve quality issues that affect products or manufacturing methods.
- Provide input on production layouts using lean tools to eliminate waste.
- Collaborate with operators, team leaders, and value stream planners to optimize process center designs and material flow.
- Measure manufacturing cycle times to improve labor standards and routings.
- Apply lean principles such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban to drive system improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional lean Kaizen events and coordinate progress updates.
- Establish standardized work procedures through process reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Graduation date between May 2028 and May 2029.
- Previous work or internship experience.
- At least one semester of experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software.
- Ability to analyze data and draw accurate conclusions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
