About the role#
nVent is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Anoka, Minnesota. This position is open for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will work on-site to gain hands-on experience in electrical and controls engineering while contributing to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Apply your technical training to specific engineering projects.
- Perform calculations and engineering analysis to select components.
- Define product characteristics to ensure they meet specifications.
- Establish and coordinate development schedules.
- Assist the materials department with supplier selection.
- Support sales and service field activities.
- Comply with all company performance and conduct policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, electrical engineering, and analog power management.
- Familiarity with Digital Signal Processors, processor-controlled data acquisition, and device control.
- Experience with PADs or other schematic and PCB layout systems.
- Understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Strong logic and reasoning skills to identify technical strengths and weaknesses of solutions.
- Proficiency in writing reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations.
