About the role#
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Internship provides hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. You will support safety programs, environmental compliance, employee training, and data reporting. This role is designed for students building practical EHS knowledge while contributing to the safety culture at nVent.
What you'll do#
- Assist with workplace safety inspections, audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements.
- Help maintain safety documentation, records, and performance metrics.
- Assist in developing safety communications, training materials, and awareness campaigns.
- Support waste management, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist with environmental inspections, compliance activities, and permit maintenance.
- Participate in pollution prevention and resource conservation projects.
- Support onboarding, safety orientation, and employee training coordination.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and promote a positive safety culture.
- Compile and analyze performance data to create dashboards and reports for management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Ability to complete a 12-week full-time internship from June to August 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the U.S. (sponsorship is not provided).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong work ethic and personal responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, safety principles, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Anoka, MN or Blaine, MN.
- The internship term is Summer 2027 (June - August).
- This position is paid.
