About the role#
As an Automation & Controls Engineering Intern, you will work directly with maintenance and production teams at our Brandenburg plate mill. This role focuses on the fundamentals of steel making and the technical systems that keep our operations running. You will spend your time in the field, gaining hands-on experience with automation and control processes.
What you'll do#
- Learn the automation, control, and process fundamentals of steel making.
- Work on engineering and maintenance projects aimed at improving safety, cost, and reliability.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment or process issues.
- Apply your knowledge of power transmission, pneumatics, and controls in a real-world setting.
- Uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards at all times.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- You have fundamental knowledge of automation and controls.
- You are willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- You are legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note that we do not provide visa sponsorship.

- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
