About the role#
The Scientist Intern (SA Lab) supports laboratory staff in the analysis of samples prepared by the TFT team. This role involves preparing samples, performing analysis, documenting findings, and managing sample storage. You will work in a flexible environment where tasks may shift quickly, requiring the ability to multitask and manage several processes simultaneously.
What you'll do#
- Independently operate fragile SA Lab equipment including spectrophotometers, FTIR, and profilometers.
- Prepare samples for analysis, including CVD coated products and plant trial samples, following established SOPs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records in accordance with ISO9001:2000 standards.
- Analyze coating defects submitted by Manufacturing or Sales & Marketing departments.
- Handle chemicals safely according to SDS standards and maintain 5S organization in the lab.
- Report equipment issues and suggest improvements for laboratory operations and safety.
- Assist in the cold end as requested by lab personnel and attend plant trials when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Demonstrated hands-on technical skills and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in team environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to safe and ethical behavior.
- Experience in an industrial laboratory environment or handling hazardous chemicals is preferred.
