About the role#
Nox Group is hiring Field Engineer Interns for a 12-week program during Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Austin, Texas, supporting our field teams and project staff. This role provides direct exposure to the construction industry by allowing you to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world projects. You may rotate through various areas including preconstruction, estimating, industrial, and manufacturing work.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with Project Engineers and Field Superintendents to support daily operations.
- Perform surveying and layout work, including creating lift drawings.
- Participate in quality control programs and project inspections.
- Attend daily and weekly project meetings.
- Manage and distribute project documents such as drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
- Report field issues to project leadership and track installed material quantities.
- Maintain on-site equipment, materials, permit documents, and as-built records.
- Capture weekly progress photos.
- Build professional relationships with owners, clients, and trade partners while ensuring contract compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and communicate effectively with team members.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A positive, teachable attitude.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and climbing.
