About the role#
Novelis is offering a 12-week internship for an Automation/Electrical Engineering student at our facility in Ashville, Ohio. This role reports to the Quality Manager and focuses on monitoring quality data to support informed decision-making across the plant. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support automation and controls improvement projects.
- Assist with updates to PLC and HMI documentation.
- Collect and analyze equipment performance data.
- Support reliability and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Assist with electrical drawings and field verification.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Current standing as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills with effective communication abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, PLC fundamentals, and HMI/SCADA basics.
- Familiarity with data analysis, troubleshooting, Ignition, and Power BI is preferred.
- An interest in becoming an engineering leader in a manufacturing environment.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position located in Ashville, Ohio.
- The internship is paid.
- A combined housing and relocation stipend is available for eligible interns living outside a specific radius.
