About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship within the Production Engineering and Operations organization. You will work on-site in Palmdale, California, as part of the Aeronautics Systems Intern Program. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for equipment installation, machining, and material handling.
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and maintain various equipment, components, and systems.
- Work directly from engineering drawings and verbal or written instructions.
- Operate equipment, conduct tests, and report findings in a prescribed format.
- Perform alignment checks and make necessary adjustments, modifications, or replacements.
- Prepare specific compounds and solutions as required by project needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university with a graduation date after August 2027.
- Major in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and Program Special access, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher if applying with an undergraduate degree.
