About the role#
As a Pharmacy Grad Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role provides practical experience in patient care and pharmacy operations. You will help maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency while supporting the pharmacy team in daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Help prepare prescriptions and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Take prescriptions over the phone from prescribers.
- Counsel patients and provide customer service in a confidential manner.
- Complete Medication Therapy Management interventions, including patient outreach and billing.
- Administer immunizations to adults under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, provided you have the required certification.
- Follow state laws regarding immunization schedules and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your first professional year of pharmacy study.
- A valid state pharmacy intern permit.
- Knowledge of state pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with common insurance plans and billing procedures.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- One year of previous experience in a community pharmacy is preferred.
