About the role#
North Park University is seeking a Student Activities Assistant and Ultimate Frisbee Coach to support the Office of Student Activities and the Office of Intercultural Student Affairs. This role focuses on fostering student belonging through campus programming and leading the men's and women's Ultimate frisbee teams. The position requires a commitment to Christian higher education and involves both administrative event planning and athletic coaching duties.
What you'll do#
- Plan and execute major departmental programs, including the Voyage Student Involvement Fair and Homecoming.
- Organize local events in Chicago to introduce students to the city's arts, culture, music, and entertainment.
- Design co-curricular initiatives focused on identity, diversity, and culture to support student success.
- Collaborate with team captains to develop practice plans, run drills, and implement in-game strategies for the Ultimate frisbee teams.
- Coordinate tournament schedules and travel with the frisbee teams to events by vehicle.
- Support the commuter council and promote engagement opportunities through various communication channels.
- Manage administrative tasks such as processing reimbursements and program purchasing requests.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Extensive knowledge of Ultimate frisbee, including coaching or playing experience.
- Enthusiasm for student programming, leadership development, and marketing.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a university vehicle.
- Ability to work evenings and travel on weekends for practices and tournaments.
