About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in optical module testing, characterization, and test automation. You will work directly with development engineers on next-generation PON products.
What you'll do#
- Perform characterization testing and analysis of optical PON modules.
- Assist optical designers and development engineers with testing pluggable optical modules.
- Operate optical test equipment.
- Automate test setups.
- Conduct post-processing and analysis of test results.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience using electronic and optical test equipment, such as BERT, OSA, DCA, network analyzers, or high-speed scopes.
- Familiarity with programmatic design principles.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 2027).
- Duration: 4 months or longer.
- Status: Full-time and paid.
