    About the role#

    Nokia is hiring for a DSP Firmware Engineering Co-op position. This role involves working on real-time embedded firmware for high-capacity optical modems. You will work with dedicated Arm processors using both bare-metal systems and real-time operating systems.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop embedded real-time DSP and control systems for advanced applications.
    • Program and test embedded control systems for the Optical Modem ASIC.
    • Perform MATLAB simulations and hardware modeling in C++ to support system design.
    • Conduct real-time firmware coding, testing, and database API development.
    • Contribute to digital ASIC simulation for system optimization and validation.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical and computer engineering, software engineering, combinatronics and optimization, computer science, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with modern C++ programming.
    • Knowledge of tools including git, cmake, and jenkins.
    • A strong intention to contribute to the success of the program.
    • Previous work term experience is preferred.

    • Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Employment: Full-time paid internship.
