About the role#
The Systems Engineering group at Nissan supports manufacturing, supply chain, and facility operations. As an intern, you will help design, install, and support communication, control, quality, and monitoring systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience with software development, systems integration, and automation technologies that support critical manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy new technology solutions and proof-of-concept projects.
- Develop software applications using multiple programming languages to support manufacturing and facility operations.
- Design, build, and maintain databases that support system integrations and operational processes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation, data analysis, and systems enhancements.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Entering your Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- Basic to intermediate experience with software development using Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, Visual Basic) and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation languages such as Python or PowerShell.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), software design principles, and application development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of database design, data analysis, and systems integration concepts.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools and emerging technologies like AI is a plus.
