About the role#
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineering Intern to join our Trim and Chassis team in Canton, Mississippi. This 12-week program allows you to work alongside experienced engineers on equipment reliability, new model support, and continuous improvement projects. You will gain hands-on experience with manufacturing systems in an automotive environment.
What you'll do#
- Support equipment reliability initiatives to improve manufacturing performance, uptime, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with equipment installation and commissioning projects within Trim and Chassis operations.
- Analyze maintenance and production data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in strategic planning activities related to equipment performance and future manufacturing needs.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and engineering documentation to communicate project findings and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- You must be entering your Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in equipment reliability, maintenance engineering, and manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles, preventive maintenance, and familiarity with automation systems is preferred.
