About the role#
As a Body Engineering Intern, you will join our team in Canton, Mississippi. You will work alongside engineers responsible for white-body dimensional accuracy and quality control. This 12-week program provides hands-on experience with vehicle build quality, tool development, and advanced manufacturing technologies like 3D vision-guided robotics.
What you'll do#
- Support initiatives to improve body dimensional accuracy and overall vehicle quality.
- Assist with the design, development, and validation of jigs and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Participate in projects that improve technician safety and ergonomic work practices.
- Support the deployment of new manufacturing technologies and equipment installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and plant personnel to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program for Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Automotive Engineering.
- Entering your Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Participation in hands-on engineering organizations such as Formula SAE, Baja, or Solar Car teams is preferred.
