Environmental Technician Co-op Student

About the role#

NexGold Mining Corp. is seeking an Environmental Technician Co-op Student for the Fall 2026 term. Based at the Goliath Gold Complex, this role supports the environment team in implementing field programs and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will work on-site, gaining experience in environmental management while contributing to the development of site-wide performance standards.

What you'll do#

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and excellence in all tasks.
• Conduct field sampling programs, including surface water quality, groundwater quality, and stream flow measurements.
• Analyze, interpret, and manage environmental data to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external environmental documentation.
• Support the site team in meeting or exceeding environmental performance protocols.
• Communicate and collaborate within a team environment to meet defined objectives.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Co-op program at a recognized Canadian College or University.
• Current pursuit of a technical degree or diploma in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Physics, Public Health, or Nursing.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products, including data entry.
• A valid G2 driver’s license or higher in Ontario.
• Physical ability to routinely lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Capability to work in various weather conditions with strong organizational skills.
• Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person legally entitled to work in Ontario.

Location & details#

• Location: Wabigoon, Ontario (On-site).
• Term: September 8, 2026, to December 18, 2026.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Compensation: $24.72 per hour.
• Benefits: Company-provided housing is available for those outside commuting distance, and one roundtrip travel arrangement is provided for non-local candidates. CSA-approved work boots are eligible for reimbursement.
