About the role#
NexGold Mining Corp. is seeking an Environmental Technician Co-op Student to join the Environment team at the Goliath Gold Complex. This role focuses on implementing environmental field programs and supporting the development of regulatory protocols. You will work on-site, collaborating with exploration and project teams to ensure environmental performance standards are met.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety and excellence in all tasks.
- Execute field sampling programs, including surface water quality, groundwater quality, and stream flow measurements.
- Ensure all sampling protocols are followed, documented, and reported accurately.
- Analyze, interpret, and manage environmental data to maintain quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external environmental documentation.
- Support the site team in promoting environmental performance and meeting established protocols.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a recognized Canadian college or university co-op program.
- Current pursuit of a technical degree or diploma in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Physics, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including data entry platforms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds routinely.
- A valid Ontario driver's license (G2 or higher).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person legally entitled to work in Ontario.
Location & details#
- Location: Wabigoon, Ontario.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026, to December 18, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- Compensation: $24.72 per hour.
- Additional Support: Company-provided housing is available for those outside commuting distance, and travel arrangements for one roundtrip are provided. CSA-approved work boots are eligible for reimbursement.
