About the role#
As a Quality Engineer Intern at Newport Brass, you will work under the direction of the Director of Lean Processes. This role focuses on developing and maintaining production work instructions to support the safe, high quality, and efficient manufacturing of our products.
What you'll do#
- Develop work instructions using the company standard format.
- Manage the approval process for completed instructions, including making necessary corrections.
- Upload approved documentation to the Brasstech Intranet System.
- Update existing work instructions to reflect engineering changes or process improvements.
- Participate in team-based process improvement initiatives, including 5S, kaizen, Lean Manufacturing practices, and cost reduction projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering degree program.
- Proficiency with MS Office software.
- No prior work experience is required for this position.
