About the role#
This summer internship program within the Technology, Data, AI and Ventures organization offers hands-on experience in software engineering. You will work on systems that support our business, policy owners, and employees. The program includes team-building activities, a collaborative capstone project, and social events to help you build your professional network.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and improve software applications that support business and customer needs.
- Build secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions using modern programming languages, development frameworks, cloud-native technologies, and AI-driven development tools.
- Work with product owners, designers, and engineers across the full software development lifecycle.
- Translate requirements into modular, testable components.
- Use Agile and DevOps practices to deliver features.
- Use automation and intelligent assistance to improve code quality and user experiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Java, or C#.
- Understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, database concepts, and scripting.
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to learn.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without employment-based sponsorship. Please note that this program is not available to those authorized to work under OPT or CPT.
Location & details#
- This is an 11-week, full-time summer internship program.
- The role is based in New York, New York.
- You will work in a hybrid environment, with three days per week on-site.
