About the role#
The Mass Spectrometry core lab in Process Development is looking for a Post-baccalaureate Fellow. You will develop a new method to replace in-gel digests for identifying protein degradation. This role supports core sample preparation and analysis for the PDMS team. It is an opportunity to expand your analytical biochemistry skills while helping develop manufacturing processes for high-quality reagents.
What you'll do#
- Perform biochemical assays, including enzymatic assays, SDS-PAGE, and protein or peptide quantification.
- Prepare samples using proteolytic digests such as in-gel, FASP, and MAP.
- Operate ESI-MS/MS instruments like Ascend and QE.
- Process, interpret, and report data using PEAKS and Protein Metrics software.
- Compose buffers and standards for the PDMS lab.
- Calibrate laboratory instruments, including mass spectrometers and liquid chromatography systems.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
- A general understanding of protein structures, functions, and analysis tools.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with tasks like pipetting and centrifugation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks at once.
- An enthusiasm for learning new things.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
- The term for this fellowship is rolling.
