About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position running from January 18, 2027, to June 25, 2027. You will join the Biobank Operations team to support the quality, integrity, and traceability of biospecimens. This lab-based role offers hands-on experience with sample lifecycle management and laboratory automation within a regulated biotechnology environment.
What you'll do#
- Manage biospecimen receipt, documentation, storage, retrieval, and distribution following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Use the LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample tracking and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Support automation and robotics workflows for sample reformatting and storage.
- Handle biospecimens across various temperature conditions.
- Assist with study close-out, sample reconciliation, and storage optimization to improve operational efficiency.
- Identify and report discrepancies in labeling, inventory, or documentation to the team.
- Present project updates to Biobank and cross-functional partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Coursework or laboratory experience in these disciplines.
- Basic laboratory skills, including pipetting and sample handling.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Interest in biobanking, clinical research, or regulated laboratory operations.
- Prior experience with laboratory equipment, automation, or digital tracking systems is a plus.
