About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position based in Norwood, Massachusetts. The role runs from January 18th to June 25th, 2027. You will support laboratory operations within the Tundra laboratory, focusing on structural biology research for infectious disease programs. This position offers practical experience in a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
What you'll do#
- Partner with experienced scientists to learn and apply core X-Ray crystallography laboratory techniques.
- Prepare proteins, solutions, and screens for routine X-ray crystallography experiments.
- Design experiments and operate laboratory robotics for screening and optimization.
- Model and refine 3D protein structures using crystallographic software.
- Gain exposure to and work alongside Cryo-EM scientists.
- Maintain research documentation and present data to the team.
- Support laboratory organization, housekeeping, and safety compliance.
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Foundational laboratory skills applicable to research.
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Interest in structural biology, including X-ray crystallography and Cryo-EM.
- Must hold existing work authorization in the United States, as sponsorship is not available for this role.
