About the role#
Neuralink is looking for a Digital IC Design Engineer Intern to join the Brain Interfaces SoC team. You will work on chip architecture and silicon implementation for neural recording and stimulation systems. This role focuses on enhancing energy efficiency, information entropy, and scalability for wireless brain-computer interfaces. You will work on a small team alongside chip designers, electrical engineers, and software experts.
What you'll do#
- Design micro-architecture and implement RTL for low-power digital signal processors, hardware accelerators, graphics processing units, and radio or serial link MAC/PHY.
- Create hardware/software interfaces in collaboration with firmware engineers.
- Perform complex system modeling for energy and performance benchmarks, including workload analysis.
- Balance energy efficiency and performance while considering manufacturing process variation and design trade-offs.
- Conduct system-on-chip verification, behavioral level modeling, model equivalence checks, and FPGA emulation.
- Perform analog mixed-signal co-simulation and design for testability.
- Collaborate on silicon bring-up tests with validation engineers.
What you'll need#
- Evidence of exceptional ability in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in digital design.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog, C/C++, and Python.
- Experience working on complex digital systems from architecture to RTL using industry standard tools.
- Experience designing digital signal processing pipelines from algorithm to RTL.
- Preferred: Experience in architecture optimization, physical design, system-on-chip testing, functional modeling, tool flow automation, embedded design, instruction set architecture, compiler back-end design, or PCB/firmware design.
