About the role#
The AI Cohort Internship Program at Nelnet is a hands-on experience focused on AI-driven projects across multiple business units. This program aims to foster innovation, enhance team AI capabilities, and address evolving resource needs. Interns work directly with various teams to contribute to impactful projects and gain exposure to AI applications in real business settings.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities where AI can improve efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in building a research database to track AI projects and participate in organizational knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Conduct meetings with teams to understand project requirements and deliver AI training sessions.
- Document project steps, results, challenges, and recommendations to support continued progress.
- Present findings, achievements, and key takeaways to Nelnet leadership and team members at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, Visual Media Arts, or a related field.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, data visualization tools, or database management platforms.
- Ability to approach complex problems with a structured, analytical mindset and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Experience in documenting processes, results, and creating clear reports or presentations.
