Accounting Intern

About the role#

Nelnet Business Solutions is seeking an Accounting Intern to support a variety of financial, accounting, and system-related tasks. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience through mentorship and exposure to core business operations.

What you'll do#

• Provide financial analysis assistance, including month-end close and ad hoc requests.
• Handle clerical accounting duties such as lockbox, cash deposits, and reviewing credit card chargebacks.
• Support the implementation of a new company-wide financial tool.
• Assist with accounts receivable and customer billing processes.
• Complete special projects as assigned by management.

What you'll need#

• Currently working towards a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting departments.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new processes.
