About the role#
This internship with the STAR school-based team offers hands-on experience working with youth in schools and the community. You will work closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners. You will also have the opportunity to observe other therapeutic areas within the agency to gain insight into the clients and communities we serve.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
- Manage cases and coordinate services, including mental health, medical, educational, and social support.
- Provide transportation and travel to provide community-based services.
- Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
- Complete all required training and documentation in a timely manner.
- Meet or exceed established outcomes thresholds.
- Participate in weekly supervision.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Master’s program for Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
- Required internship or field placement from your institution.
- LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
- Experience working in direct service with youth and families is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours.
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, and standard office equipment, as well as word processing and spreadsheet software.
- A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
- Capacity to remain objective and professional.
