About the role#
This is a paid summer internship for students interested in manufacturing operations. You will work on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, gaining hands-on experience in production, quality control, and process improvement. The program runs for the summer of 2027 and provides exposure to various departments including engineering, maintenance, and safety.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily manufacturing operations while working alongside experienced professionals.
- Participate in production activities to build practical skills.
- Identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements to support continuous improvement.
- Document and analyze data regarding production metrics, efficiency, and performance.
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions.
- Attend training sessions and workshops focused on manufacturing technology, leadership, and team development.
- Shadow managers across different departments to learn various problem-solving methods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- A strong academic background with coursework in operations management or manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff, from hourly associates to management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Physical ability to access all plant areas and lift 50 lbs.
- Availability for occasional travel, up to 10 percent of the internship period.
