About the role#
The Internal Audit Intern assists in conducting financial audits to evaluate internal controls related to the Model Audit Rule. You will report to the AVP of Internal Audit and work with teams across the organization. This position is part-time and follows a hybrid work model.
What you'll do#
- Perform walkthroughs and test controls for Model Audit Rule compliance.
- Write internal audit reports and present them to management.
- Develop and discuss improvement recommendations with management to set action plans and deadlines.
- Help respond to audit requests from external auditors and state insurance departments.
- Support the team on special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify issues, find root causes, and suggest solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to work independently and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- A self-motivated work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Madison, Wisconsin.
- The position is hybrid and supports remote work, though you may need to attend in-person meetings at the direction of the company.
