About the role#
The Content and Community Engagement team is looking for an intern to support the launch and optimization of a large-scale website project. This is an unpaid internship that offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to earn academic credit. You will work a minimum of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. The role is remote, though you have the option to work from the office as needed by coordinating with staff.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with web, design, communications, and content teams.
- Migrate and organize existing website content.
- Develop and organize new content using established templates and brand guidelines.
- Research and strategize ways to use AI tools to improve web content development.
- Perform quality assurance reviews, including proofreading, link testing, and formatting checks.
- Consider accessibility requirements for all web pages.
- Participate in brainstorming and project planning sessions.
- Contribute ideas to improve content presentation and audience engagement.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least two years of college with a concentration in Web Development and Multimedia or Communications.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to analyze written materials.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Experience with web content management systems is a plus.

- Location: Alexandria, Virginia (Remote with hybrid options).
- Term: Rolling applications for Summer/Fall 2026.
- Parking or public transportation expenses are reimbursed.
