About the role#
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is looking for an intern to join the Community Engagement Team. You will work on-site in Austin to help support our partnerships with law enforcement and social service agencies. This is an unpaid internship that provides hands-on experience and the potential for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical assistance to law enforcement and social service agencies regarding training and partnership opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison to help these agencies access and share resources.
- Manage partner information and keep working files organized.
- Conduct searches using open source and social media platforms.
- Update various internal databases.
- Assist with ongoing data projects for the organization.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least two years of college with a focus on Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to analyze written materials effectively.
- Proficiency in searching open source and social media platforms.
- A commitment to handling and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Austin, Texas.
- The position is on-site.
- The schedule is about 15 hours per week between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. ET, Monday through Friday.
- Interns are reimbursed for parking or public transportation expenses.
