About the role#
The Web Content Intern joins the Content & Community Engagement team to support the launch and optimization of a large-scale website project. This role involves working across web, design, and communications teams to maintain and develop digital content. Interns have the opportunity to earn academic credit and will be reimbursed for parking or public transportation expenses. This is an unpaid internship.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support website project launches and optimizations.
- Migrate, organize, and develop website content using established templates and brand guidelines.
- Research and strategize the use of AI tools to improve web content development processes.
- Perform quality assurance reviews, including proofreading, link testing, and checking for formatting consistency and accessibility.
- Participate in project planning and brainstorming sessions to improve content presentation and audience engagement.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of college with a concentration in Web Development, Multimedia, or Communications.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to analyze written materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Experience with web content management systems is considered an asset.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Alexandria, Virginia, and is available for Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
- The role is remote with the option to work on-site as needed.
- A minimum of 20 hours per week is required, between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
