About the role#
As a Quality Intern at MSI Express, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our food safety and quality operations. You will work on real business challenges, partner with leaders across the company, and help turn ideas into action. The program concludes with a presentation to senior leadership covering your results and recommendations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Quality team in maintaining food safety and quality standards across manufacturing operations.
- Participate in product inspections, audits, testing activities, and documentation reviews.
- Analyze quality performance metrics and support corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Help investigate customer complaints, process deviations, and non-conformances.
- Support projects focused on strengthening food safety, quality systems, and operational compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, Engineering, or related academic program.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- An interest in food safety, quality assurance, and manufacturing systems.
Location & details#
- Location: Geneva, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid at $19.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments. You must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs or ladders, and lift up to 25 pounds. You will be required to follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment.
