About the role#
As a Production Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing operations. You will work on business challenges, partner with leaders across the company, and implement solutions. Your experience will culminate in a presentation of your results and recommendations to senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist production teams in monitoring daily manufacturing activities.
- Support initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and optimizing production processes.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and process bottlenecks.
- Assist in creating and updating work instructions, process documentation, and visual management tools.
- Partner with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to support operational goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related academic program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work in a production environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving machinery.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs or ladders, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Location & details#
- Location: Geneva, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $19.00 per hour.
- Work modality: On-site.
