About the role#
This is a part-time Engineering Co-Op position based at our Weeks Island facility. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in a mining and manufacturing environment. The role supports various departments including maintenance and electrical operations. This position is designed for students currently enrolled in a technical program or degree path.
What you'll do#
- Learn plant and mine processes, equipment, and daily operations by working with experienced staff.
- Assist with projects focused on reliability, continuous improvement, and site safety.
- Help identify ways to improve efficiency and equipment performance.
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving with cross-functional teams.
- Support preventative maintenance tasks and site housekeeping programs.
- Ensure all work complies with company procedures, safety regulations, and food safety requirements.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a community college, technical program, or bachelor degree program.
- Basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in an industrial or mine environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes and safety glasses, and work at heights when necessary.
