Student Intern - The Colonnade

About the role#

The Student Intern at The Colonnade supports the leasing team in maintaining building occupancy and fostering positive tenant relations. This role focuses on the end-to-end leasing process, from initial guest inquiries to move-in orientation, while assisting with marketing and administrative operations.

What you'll do#

• Leasing & Tenant Relations: Screen applicants, conduct credit and employment checks, and show suites to prospective tenants. Manage the application process, including collecting deposits and coordinating move-in logistics.
• Marketing & Advertising: Monitor advertising accuracy, assist with marketing strategies, and survey local competition to identify market trends. Create and maintain mini model displays to showcase available suites.
• Office Administration: Manage the reception area to ensure an inviting atmosphere, handle general inquiries, and maintain office supply levels. Prepare move-in packages and orient new tenants to the building.
• Reporting & Documentation: Track guest cards, rental calls, and traffic using the Yardi Dashboard. Prepare weekly rental reports for management and maintain accurate records of all suite availability.
• Maintenance Coordination: Inspect vacant suites to identify necessary repairs or decorating needs and communicate maintenance requirements to building staff.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma; post-secondary education in Marketing, Business Administration, or Real Estate is an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Yardi software is considered an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
