About the role#
The Student Intern at Tomken Place helps maintain occupancy levels and builds positive tenant relations. You will manage the leasing process for available suites and support daily office operations to ensure a welcoming environment for prospective and current residents.
What you'll do#
- Inspect vacant suites and coordinate necessary repairs or staging to ensure they are market-ready.
- Screen applicants, conduct credit and employment checks, and manage the leasing paperwork process.
- Show available suites to prospective tenants and handle move-in orientations.
- Track rental leads, guest cards, and suite showings using the Yardi dashboard.
- Produce weekly rental reports for the manager.
- Monitor advertising accuracy and suggest marketing strategies based on local competition.
- Maintain office supplies and keep the reception area clean and inviting.
- Perform general administrative tasks like mail distribution and photocopying.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, with post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Real Estate, or Communications considered an asset.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with MS Office.
- Experience with Yardi software is an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage leasing transactions effectively.
