About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship for the 2025 season. You will work with the Revenue Accounting team to ensure accurate recording of tenant rents and revenue for a portfolio of properties.
What you'll do#
- Complete reporting tasks such as pre-posting reports, occupancy and vacancy reporting, and tenant statements.
- Record daily payments and accounts receivable, reconcile deposits, and verify the accuracy of tenant account applications.
- Process new lease agreements and renewals in Yardi, including verifying applications and addendums.
- Reconcile revenue accounts to the sub-ledger on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, investigating any discrepancies.
- Prepare tenant refunds, credits, zero receipts, NSF payments, and write-offs while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and support site managers with day-to-day accounting inquiries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics program.
- Strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
