2025 Summer Internship - Revenue Accounting

About the role#

The 2025 Summer Internship in Revenue Accounting is a full-time position focused on ensuring the accurate recording of tenant rents and revenue for a portfolio of properties. This role provides exposure to property reporting, lease administration, and financial reconciliation within the real estate industry.

What you'll do#

• Complete reporting functions, including pre-posting reports, occupancy and vacancy reporting, pre-authorized payments, and tenant statements.
• Record daily payments and accounts receivable information, ensuring deposits are reconciled and verified against tenant accounts.
• Process new lease agreements and renewals in Yardi, ensuring all documentation is accurate and reflected in monthly reports.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations of revenue accounts to the sub-ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare tenant refunds, credits, NSF payments, and write-offs while ensuring compliance with company policies and property management approvals.
• Maintain trust account documentation and filing systems to support audit and review processes.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and support site managers with day-to-day accounting inquiries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics program.
• Strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
