About the role#
The Revenue Accounting Summer Internship is a full-time position focused on the accurate recording of tenant rents, fees, and revenue for a portfolio of properties. You will work under the guidance of the Revenue Accounting team to support financial reporting and lease maintenance processes.
What you'll do#
- Complete reporting functions such as occupancy and vacancy reports, pre-authorized payments, and tenant statements.
- Record daily accounts receivable information and reconcile deposits to ensure accurate application to tenant accounts.
- Process new lease agreements and renewals in Yardi, verifying information against applications and addendums.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations of revenue accounts to sub-ledgers, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare tenant refunds, credits, NSF payments, and write-offs while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain trust account documentation and support audit processes through organized record keeping.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and coordinate with site managers to address day-to-day accounting inquiries.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
