About the role#
The Property Maintenance Intern will support daily operations to ensure the property and grounds are maintained to a high standard for tenants and visitors. This is a full-time, paid summer internship based on-site in Brampton, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Perform repairs and installations on non-structural and non-vital building systems, including plumbing, minor carpentry, drywall, and common area lighting.
- Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance of building systems and the building envelope.
- Supervise and perform ground-keeping activities, such as landscaping, parking lot upkeep, and snow removal.
- Respond to tenant service requests escalated by the general maintenance team.
- Support Building Operators with scheduled maintenance of major building systems.
- Maintain accurate repair logs and documentation related to building operations and safety systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering programs.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, plumbing, or electrical fields.
- Enrollment in a Class 5 Operators course or an equivalent apprenticeship program.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service.
- Prior exposure to Business Automation or Energy Management Systems is considered an asset.
- A valid driver's license is considered an asset.
