About the role#
The Property Maintenance Intern will support the operations team in maintaining property grounds and building systems. This role focuses on daily routine maintenance and tenant services to ensure the property remains in excellent condition for tenants and visitors.
What you'll do#
- Perform repairs and installations on non-structural and non-vital building systems, including plumbing, painting, flooring, and minor carpentry.
- Assist Building Operators with routine, scheduled maintenance of major building systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of building envelopes and non-vital systems, including roof, drain, and leak checks.
- Supervise and perform ground-keeping activities such as parking lot upkeep, landscaping, snow removal, and general exterior cleaning.
- Respond to tenant requests for major services in their premises or common areas as escalated by general maintenance staff.
- Maintain accurate repair and maintenance logs to ensure operational continuity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering programs.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, plumbing, or electrical fields.
- Enrollment in a class 5 Operators course or equivalent apprenticeship program.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Client service skills and the ability to maintain a professional appearance.
- Prior exposure to Business Automation or Energy Management Systems is considered an asset.
- A valid driver's license is considered an asset.
