About the role#
The Leasing Intern is responsible for renting suites as they become available to maintain optimum building occupancy and foster positive tenant relations. This role involves a mix of property marketing, applicant screening, and administrative support.
What you'll do#
- Inspect vacant suites and coordinate necessary repairs or staging to ensure they are market ready.
- Screen prospective tenants, conduct credit and employment checks, and manage the application approval process.
- Show suites to prospective tenants and manage move-in orientations and welcome packages.
- Monitor advertising accuracy and assist in developing marketing strategies by surveying local competition.
- Maintain office supplies and ensure the reception area provides an inviting atmosphere for guests.
- Track rental leads, guest cards, and daily traffic using the Yardi Dashboard.
- Prepare weekly rental reports and perform general administrative tasks such as mail distribution and stationery management.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma, with post-secondary education in Marketing, Business Administration, or Real Estate considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience using Yardi is an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to close rental agreements effectively.
