Student Intern - Leasing

About the role#

The Leasing Intern is responsible for renting suites as they become available to maintain optimum building occupancy and foster positive tenant relations. This role involves a mix of administrative tasks, marketing support, and direct interaction with prospective tenants.

What you'll do#

• Leasing and Screening: Inspect vacant suites to identify maintenance needs, screen applicants, conduct credit and employment checks, and manage the full leasing documentation process.
• Marketing and Strategy: Monitor advertising accuracy, assist in developing marketing strategies, survey local competition, and stage suites and mini-models to attract prospective tenants.
• Reception and Tenant Relations: Greet guests, maintain an inviting office environment, and orient new tenants with move-in packages and building information.
• Documentation and Reporting: Track rental traffic, guest cards, and suite showings using the Yardi Dashboard and prepare weekly rental reports for management.
• General Administration: Handle daily office tasks such as mail distribution, supply management, and communicating with building staff regarding property maintenance and compliance.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma; post-secondary education in Marketing, Business Administration, or Real Estate is an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Yardi is considered an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and closing ability.
