About the role#
The Pastry & Baking Externship at Montage Palmetto Bluff offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional hospitality environment. This role focuses on the creation of high-quality pastry products while supporting kitchen operations for both restaurant service and banquets.
What you'll do#
- Prepare high-quality food products according to established menu descriptions and hotel standards.
- Mentor Cook III and kitchen staff by providing guidance and support.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of food products, culinary techniques, and sanitation standards.
- Restock kitchen supplies and food items while maintaining a clean workspace.
- Fulfill guest orders with attention to detail to ensure memorable experiences.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of one year of cooking experience in a standalone restaurant or hotel.
- Passion for baking and pastry creation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High level of trustworthiness and integrity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Capacity to work in varied temperature environments, ranging from freezers to hot kitchens.
