About the role#
As a Quality Control Intern, you will work on initiatives to drive continuous improvement at our Waterford, New York site. You will collaborate with experts to strengthen quality systems and operational excellence. This role involves hands-on work with lab methods, defect trends, and certification projects.
What you'll do#
- Complete Quality Risk Assessment and process mapping for at least 3 Waterford assets.
- Optimize test methods under the direction of a Quality Chemist.
- Analyze defect data to find opportunities for improvement and create action plans.
- Support AS9100 Certification and MLIMS project teams.
- Develop a training plan for new lab technicians joining the Quality Control labs.
- Help identify storage locations for retain samples.
- Consolidate documents into a 5-year capital expenditure plan for the labs, including strategies for equipment backup and eliminating single-source dependencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Chemistry, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to document processes and procedures with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of basic statistics or successful completion of university-level mathematics.
- Ability to learn new software platforms quickly.
- Prior experience teaching or training others in technical topics is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Waterford, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 to 12 weeks between May and August).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Pay: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.
