About the role#
This internship focuses on the development of new sustainable adjuvants for agricultural applications. You will work on a research project designed to advance our understanding of agricultural spray adjuvants. The goal is to create new products that improve sustainability while maintaining or increasing the performance of current solutions.
What you'll do#
- Perform lab-based experimentation independently.
- Assist in the synthesis, formulation, and application testing of new agricultural materials.
- Operate the instruments required for your specific project scope.
- Document your work using an electronic lab notebook.
- Maintain the laboratory according to good housekeeping principles.
- Collect and consolidate your findings into a formal report.
- Summarize and present your work in a PowerPoint presentation at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, with at least one semester remaining after the internship concludes.
- Pursuit of an MS or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or a related field.
- Ability to analyze scientific problems and propose hypothesis-driven solutions.
- Experience executing experimental studies and interpreting data.
- Ability to integrate concepts from chemistry, physical chemistry, biology, and agricultural sciences.
- Familiarity with surfactants, colloid and interface science is a plus.
- Ability to communicate technical findings through written reports and presentations.
Location & details#
- Location: Pearl River, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10-12 weeks between May and August).
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
