About the role#
As a Hardcoats Application Development Intern, you will support the development and optimization of advanced coating technologies for automotive and industrial use. You will work alongside R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to conduct experiments, test materials, and analyze performance data. This role provides hands-on experience with application technologies and product development.
What you'll do#
- Operate and optimize the Ultrasonic Spray Application Machine to apply Hardcoats materials.
- Set up material recipes and update standard operating procedures.
- Conduct wet chemistry experiments, including flow coating, spray coating, and dip coating.
- Perform physical property testing for hardness, abrasion resistance, and coating thickness.
- Document and standardize experimental data for internal databases.
- Create technical reports and presentations that summarize your findings and recommendations.
- Support process mapping and waste identification initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
- Comfort working in a wet lab environment and using coating test methods.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis and data management platforms like Excel or SharePoint.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks.
